An unexpected treasure was discovered by a library maintained by donations of books in England.
Christine and Robert Williams were separating the last deliveries of donations to the National Trust's used books, when they encountered a small hardback, all dusty and with beautiful illustrations. It was a rare first edition of The Last Battle (1956) by CS Lewis. This is the last book in the series The Chronicles of Narnia, which has been awarded the Carnegie Medal, is illustrated by Pauline Baynes, who was also a favorite illustrator of JRR Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings).
"We felt it was something special so we got the book," says Christine. "He was in excellent condition, of course, a little old, with the most beautiful pictures on the cover and inside."
The book is going to auction with an estimate to be auctioned 700-1000 pounds.
I give him one, give you 2, I give you three!
