Came the first official blog of the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third of the franchise. Blogs production aims to reveal a little about the background, is the inspiration to build a scenario, the details of an outfit or even a curious fact of the recordings.
At the time of Prince Caspian was in postproduction these blogs that were posted on the official website brought concept art, videos of scenes, making of, description of scenery and not much that came to be shown on film.
Here is the "translation" of the blog that came out on facebook
Dear friends:
We are offering a first in a planned series of reports direct from the set of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. These reports are not those types that you find canned in stores "traditional." Instead, you will receive reports from the unfiltered and the production team as they work tirelessly to bring the magic of the beloved story and characters of CS Lewis to the big screen:
"Dedicated to those He loves" by Ernie Malik [film's publicist]
"All Narnians, with grateful hearts we thank the team of the mighty Dawn Treader by their strong minds and hands of artisans.
Read the inscription engraved around the base of the mast of the mighty and majestic ship of the title character in the movie "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader", designed by Barry Robison, who was in Cleveland Point peninsula about 32 km east of Brisbane , Australia, and hosted the cast / crew for 17 days of filming during the month of September.
What does all this mean?
Merchant ships sail formerly carried the names of his crew, or a tribute to those whose hands helped build such a vessel, or an unexpected death at sea.
In the history of film, was Barry's idea to write on the mast of the ship Caspian's dedication to his loyal Narnian crew that built the ship for their king. While the film does not show a close up of the names on the mast, they represent the history, all those sailors Telmarines traveling together with Caspian and the Pevensie.
However, there may below the poetic description of Barry in the Dawn Treader (which, incidentally, was Madela based on HMS Endeavour James Cook, who sailed the South Seas in 1768, a replica of it is currently in Sydney Harbour ) are the names of each team's film that gave a hand to bring to life this incredible ship.
Regardless of their homes, either in the U.S., Mexico, England, New Zealand or Australia.
The list welcomes those carpenters, illustrator, bricklayers, painters, workers and personnel of the department of art that helped draw this cinematic monument. Robison estimates is written the name of the mast about 200 people.
When he is asked about the ship (its inspiration, or dimensions, or anything), the artist experienced the film is quick to include the names of all those who helped bring his grand vision to life. Although its name alone, grace the big screen as the film's production designer, afetusamente he recognizes that there are dozens of creative minds (and hundreds of talented hands) who designed the sumptuous September
As the art director Ian Grace, who did the same job in "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," The art director Mark Robins, who spent each day in Cleveland Point overseeing the construction (after first seeing the ship come to life in the studio). The Mexican art director Marco Nero, whose early work, when recordings were scheduled to take place in Rosario (the place where Titanic was filmed in 1996) proved invaluable. The construction manager Sean Ahern. The chief painter Matt Connors, who without their contributions the ship would only be a model colorless. And the names on the list of Barry continues.
The day the ship was finally erected on the peninsula in the South Pacific, Barry stood beside his creation, almost in tears at the end of the vision that began with a model of three feet high for 28 months ago.
Now, its creation and its colefas would begin to shine on camera.
So these few words are devoted to this gracious gentleman, an artist whose creative talents and contributions, not only in the Dawn Treader, but in the entire movie, stands as a testament to the magic of the film on land and in the world whose magical landscapes remained with readers around the world for more than half a century, and will continue for more than a millennium.
