MundoNarnia.com: Hello Tom! First I want to thank you for willingness to talk with us in this interview. The contact came from the news we publish this week with the storyboard images you did for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. We are fans and we are very attentive to any news, so the discovery. Your work is unobtrusive, yet extremely important for the beautiful result that comes to the screen adaptation of the Narnia film. And you work on the storyboard from the first film. Tell us about who Tom is and how to be an artist develops storyboards.
Tom Nelson: I started working with animation many years ago and after a time wanted to work on projects that were a little more dramatic, so I started working with films, with The Chronicles of Narnia among them.
MN: What were the main projects in storyboard that you participated?
Tom: Those for the Narnia films are probably the biggest.
MN: How did produce storyboards for Prince Caspian and The Lion, the Witch and the clothes?
Tom: The first movie was very special. Everyone contributes to it, we knew we were working on something big. I met a lot of interesting people and fell in love with New Zealand. Always remember that.
MN: You've read the books of The Chronicles of Narnia or had contact only the scripts?
Tom: I read the books as a child and remember them fondly. I never thought that would work in the movies!
MN: I promised I would not do "dangerous questions", but what can tell, what we need in exciting movie The Voyage of the Dawn Treader?
Tom: In a way is a different climate from that of the first two films, because the set (local) film of a large part is the ocean. I think they have developed a great story and I'm anxious to see it!
